THE ORIGIN STORY

Long before ForgeMage.com existed, there was a father and his three kids sitting around a table in The Woodlands, Texas. The campaign world? A realm made entirely of sweets, candy mountains, cake castles, rivers of chocolate. The heroes protecting it all? The Muffin Knights.

Justin, Ryan, and Nathan picked up their first dice in middle school and never put them down. What started as a family game around the kitchen table grew into a lifelong passion. Today, as adults, the three brothers still gather twice a week with their friends, rolling dice from early evening until they simply can't keep their eyes open anymore.

That's the kind of love for this game that built this site. Not a corporation. Not a marketing team. Just players who wanted something better for the community they've belonged to their whole lives.

MEET THE MUFFIN KNIGHTS

Three dedicated tabletop RPG players who have spent more collective hours at the gaming table than they'd care to admit. They know what it's like to show up to Session 1 without a character ready. They know the frustration of spending an hour on backstory only to lose it. They know what Game Masters need when they're prepping at midnight before a Saturday session.

So they built the tools they always wished existed.

WHY WE BUILT THIS

ForgeMage.com started from a simple frustration. Existing free character generators were either too basic, too complicated, or locked behind paywalls and mandatory accounts. Players deserved better.

We wanted a free 5e character generator that could build a complete character — full backstory, personality traits, stats, spells, and gear — in under 60 seconds. No account. No subscription. No credit card. Just roll up and play.

Then we added everything else we wished existed — a GM toolkit with AI-powered NPC generation, encounter building, loot tables, and session zero tools. A party builder. A level-up simulator. A combat tutorial for new players. A complete interactive character sheet you can actually use at the table.

Everything on this site is free. That's not a trial. That's not a freemium model. It's free because the tabletop RPG community gave us thousands of hours of joy and this is how we give some of it back.
